Strategic Communication Expert and Founder of Lothery & Associates, Karlyn Lothery, Selected to help non-profit programs position, market, brand and promote themselves to build capacity.
Washington, DC
The Urban Soccer Symposium, sponsored by Demosphere, features three days of interactive workshops focused on sharing best practices and maximizing organizations’ impact in the community. The fourth and final day of the Symposium is Capitol Hill Day, in which attendees go on Capitol Hill to meet with government officials to discuss how soccer is positively impacting children in their communities. The 2013 Urban Soccer Symposium will take place April 22- 25, 2013 at the Georgetown University Hotel & Conference Center in Washington, D.C.
Karlyn Lothery will deliver the Marketing Magic workshop on April 23rd to assist participating programs in connecting their message to their audience for increased enrollment, participation, donations, and community engagement. “The Urban Soccer Symposium brings together organizations and people dedicated to improving the field of sports-based youth development,” says Sarah Pickens, Programs Manager for the US Soccer Foundation. “By bringing in Karlyn Lothery as a presenter, we hope to assist our attendees in developing strong media relationships and help them market to their specific audiences. Karlyn has a special ability to inspire her clients to get the most out of their ability to connect with others.”
Lothery notes, “There are so many non-profit organizations changing the lives of the people they touch. They’re forced to do a lot with small budgets and limited staff. The goal of this session is to give easy tips and tactics, and introduce tools that can make their work easier. A well-run community friendly organization should never be held back by a lack of visibility. If everyone comes away with two new things to connect with their donors and participants, the workshop will be a success!”
The Marketing Magic session will focus on ways for programs to develop and refine their brand, introduce social media strategies that increase program visibility, and message development tips for increasing fundraising, volunteer recruitment and participant registration.
