Karlyn Lothery, Founder, Speaker, Author, Trainer
Karlyn Lothery is the Founder of Lothery and Associates LLC, highly engaging and entertaining public speaker, author and successful communication expert. Karlyn brings with her more than 15 years of communications and diversity training experience, and a passion for coaching her clients to communication excellence. After starting her career in television as a new anchor and reporter, Karlyn successfully transitioned to life behind the camera and in front of live audiences as a communication consultant and trainer.
Karlyn serves professionals at all levels of their career, representing corporations, non-profit organizations, and sports entities to help them find their voice, confidence and ability to communicate with authority and persuasion. Operating with the philosophy that great communication makes the difference between where you are and where you want to be, Lothery & Associates focuses on empowering clients to get the most out of their staff, colleagues, customers, and reporters with whom they interact. Karlyn strives to create a fun-natured yet productive work-relationship in a safe environment.
She helps clients in the office with live workshops and at home with the Prepare 2 Speak Video Series, Speech Anxiety Webinars, and “The CEO Within” training programs.
Prior to launching Lothery & Associates, LLC, her most recent position was serving as the Chief Diversity Officer for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) where she created the office of diversity, developing their cross cultural communication efforts to bring greater ethnic and gender diversity into the sport of tennis, on and off the court.
Karlyn was an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Georgetown University from 2008-2011 and was honored as one of The Network Journal’s 40 Under Forty Most Dynamic Professionals for 2009, Washington Business Journal’s Top Minority Business Leaders in 2011, Top 500 Emerging Businesses in 2013 by DiversityBusiness.com, and 2013 RADICAL Entrepreneur. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the National MS Society, National Capital Chapter, is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, and ColorComm. She has been featured in: The Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, CBS Market Watch, The Boston Globe, the Network Journal and Newsday. Lisa Jones
Lisa Jones was Assistant Manager in charge of training and Editor for The Board of Lectureship – a Boston-based international speakers bureau of over 50 speakers giving 1,800 talks per year all over the world. In that position she worked with Karlyn to successfully transition the speakers from lecturing at to interacting with their audiences.
For ten years she was a successful producer and on-air talent for Monitor Radio, the broadcast edition of The Christian Science Monitor, winning the prestigious Gabriel Award for feature reporting with the “ability to uplift and nourish the human spirit.”
She teamed up with Lothery & Associates to work with private clients to develop their unique speaking style and help them share transforming ideas with their audiences. Serving our clients in the area of presentation, executive communication and media preparation, Lisa brings a wealth of experience to help you be your best in any setting. She has developed training workshops held for international speakers in Europe and Africa, and continues to work with clients from all industries on speech editing.
Nancy Lewis
Nancy J. Lewis is a leading motivational/inspirational keynote speaker, trainer, author, and registered corporate coach. She earned an M.S. degree from Georgia State University in Urban and Public Affairs with concentration in Human Resources. Nancy has worked as an adjunct faculty instructor at Georgia State University where she taught an undergraduate Human Resources course.
Nancy is a graduate of the Georgia Women’s Business Council 2008 Mentor Protégé Program. In 2009, Nancy was honored as a WNBA Atlanta Dream Woman of Inspiration. The same year, she was named by Rolling Out Magazine as one of the 25 most influential women in Atlanta. Nancy was also selected by the Greater Women’s Business Council as the recipient of the Trailblazer Award at the 2010 LACE Awards.
Nancy is a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC), National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), and Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. She is active in many community and civic organizations in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
Nancy is the co-author of Sisters Together: Lessons Learned That Have Anchored Our Souls, a compilation of short stories from multicultural women sharing how they moved from adversity to victory. She is the author of Things To Do To Be A Better YOU and a contributing author of Career Compass for Women. She joined Lothery & Associates in January 2012 and delivers a variety of diversity and inclusion related workshops.
